Yaren

Yaren (area 1.5 km², population 1,100 in 2003), in earlier times Makwa, is a district and constituency of the island nation of Nauru, located in the south of the island. The district is located at 0°33' South, 166°55' East (-0.55, 166.91667). [1] (http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/cntry_files.html)

As the country has no cities as such, Yaren is usually listed as the capital of Nauru. Nauru has no official capital. Sometimes, Aiwo is listed as the capital. Yaren is accepted by the UN as the "main district". It returns 2 members to the Nauruan Parliament.
