Way Out West (1937 film)

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Way Out West is a 1937 comedy film starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, James Finlayson, and Rosina Lawrence. The film was the first Laurel and Hardy picture for which Stan Laurel was credited as producer; Laurel had served in that capacity uncredited for the duo's entire career. Way Out West was executive produced by Hal Roach, directed by James W. Horne, and released to theatres on April 16 1937 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

The film's score, composed by Marvin Hatley and performed in part by the Avalon Boys, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score.
