Mosborough

Mosborough ward is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the eastern part of the city, on the border with Rotherham. It covers an area of 8.9 square kilometres and includes the districts of Mosborough village, Waterthorpe, Westfield and Halfway. The population of this ward in 2001 was 16,300 people in 7,000 households. In the 2004 local elections David Charles Barker, Andrew Michael Peat, and Samuel Kenneth Wall, all Labour Party candidates were returned as councilors for the ward. Mosborough ward also included the Crystal Peaks shopping centre.

Halfway
Halfway (grid reference SK432809 (http://www.rhaworth.myby.co.uk/oscoor_a.htm?SK432809_region:GB_scale:25000)) lies in the extreme south east of Sheffield, at the end of a Sheffield Supertram line. It is also home to a bus garage and as such it is common to see public transport in Sheffield apparently heading "Halfway".

Mosborough
Mosborough (grid reference SK426813 (http://www.rhaworth.myby.co.uk/oscoor_a.htm?SK426813_region:GB_scale:25000)) is now a suburb of Sheffield but was a village in Derbyshire until the 1970s. It was known for sickle making and was also a coal mining area. Notable buildings include the fifteenth century Mosborough Hall and a fifteenth century house which may retain some Anglo-Saxon structure.
