Visokoi Island

Visokoi Island (56°42′ S 027°12′ W (http://kvaleberg.com/extensions/mapsources/index.php?params=56_42_S_027_12_W_)) is 7.2 km (4.5 mi) long and 4.8 km (3 mi) wide, capped by Mount Hudson, a volcanic peak (915 m), in the South Sandwich Islands. Discovered in 1819 by a Russian expedition under Bellingshausen, who named the island Visokoi (high) because of its conspicuous height.
