Description
Precious little is known about Vermillion. He has shoulder-length reddish hair, glasses, and a black trenchcoat. He prefers, like Sho Shinjo, to lie in wait as the other participants destroy each other, attacking only when they come close, or when he sees potential in a warrior. Despite this fact, and the fact that he uses guns, Vermillion is by no means a weak or cheap character. He is considered by many gamers to be the hardest charcter to master, but also the most rewarding.
Story
Vermillion first appeared at the second Toshindaibukai. He tries to wait out the tournament, but is found and confronted by Sho Shinjo. He manages to escape after realizing he has no hope of victory, to reappear at a later time. In the third Toshindaibukai, Vermillion makes his prescence known almost immediately. He enters the fray, taking out several opponents but failing against and escaping from Eiji Shinjo. When Eiji and Sho battle for what is to be the last time at the end of this Toshindaibukai, he watches from afar, studying them both. He stops watching the fight prematurely, for he has seen enough to prepare for the 4th Toshindaibukai.
10 years after the last Toshindaibukai tournament, a fourth one was called to gather the four holy weapons. It was said that whoever posessed these four would have supreme and omnipotent power. Vermillion, however, knew their secret: When the four weapons were gathered, the world would come to an end. Eiji Shinjo, the new head of the organization, knew all too well of Vermillion's search for these weapons and specifically invited him to the tournament so that Eiji could kill him. Vermillion appeared at the tournament and quickly eliminated all of the weaker participants. Eventually it came down to himself and Eiji Shinjo; Vermillion fought to destroy the world, Eiji fought for the world. It was not revealed who won this fight, although Eiji seems like the more likely candidate for victory
