Verdandi

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

In Norse mythology, Verdandi (ON: Verðandi) is one of the three norns, along with Urd and Skuld. Her name means "in the making" or "that which is happening/becoming".

Oh My Goddess

A variation on the mythological Verdandi is a major character in the anime/manga series Oh My Goddess! created by Kosuke Fujishima called Belldandy. The name started out as Verdandi, and was transcribed into Japanese as ベルダンディー (Berudandī). When the manga came to the English world, it was semi-transcribed back instead of using the precedence. Belldandy is a Goddess First Class, Second Category, Unlimited License. She is a very pure and kind person - a role model for all the goddesses. At the same time, she is also a very strong-willed person.
