University of Chicago Law School

The University of Chicago Law School is a part of the prestigious University of Chicago. Having recently celebrated its centennial in the 2002-2003 school year, the Law School has established itself as an eminent institution in its own right. According the Educational Quality Rankings of US Law Schools (2003-2004) composed by Brian Leiter of the University of Texas Law School, Chicago:

- Ranks first for faculty quality by objective measures (per capita scholarly impact and productivity).

- Ranks second (behind Yale Law) in faculty quality tied with Harvard Law School (as evaluated by a survey of legal scholars).

- Has the best teaching faculty amongst the "big 14" law schools in the nation.

- Has the first and third most cited legal scholars in the nation (Cass Sunstein and Richard Epstein, respectively).

- Has the highest per capita elite firm placement in the nation.

- Led the nation in Supreme Court clerkships for the fall 2004 term, and is second in per capita federal clerkships overall behind Yale Law School.
