Trimpin

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Trimpin is a German-born Seattle, Washington-based sculptor, musician, and composer, most of whose pieces integrate both sculpture and music in some way, and many of which make use of computers to play these instruments.

Trimpin's sculpture "Roots and Branches", a conical tower of guitars, is installed in Seattle's Experience Music Project. Beginning in July 2005, several Washington museums are engaged in a year-long survey of his work, with installations and/or performances will occurring at the Henry Art Gallery of the University of Washington, Consolidated Works, the Frye Art Museum and Suyama Space in Seattle; the Museum of Glass in Tacoma; the Washington State University Museum of Art (Pullman); and, across the border, at the Vancouver Jazz Festival in Vancouver, Canada.

He studied at the University of Berlin.
