Travis Barker

Travis Barker (born November 14, 1975) is the drummer for Blink 182, The Transplants, Box Car Racer, and Plus 44. He was also previously the drummer for the Aquabats, The Vandals and Suicide Machines. Travis began studying drums and taking lessons at the age of four. He studied with a jazz teacher and was exposed to many different styles of music. While in High School, Travis played in the jazz ensemble and marching band. He subsequently gained much experience performing at regional competitions and festivals. His senior year, Travis passed up drum corps tryouts for touring with a rock band. He gained more experience as a rock drummer in a few early bands.
In 1998 Travis joined the Blink 182 after their first drummer Scott Raynor quit to go to college (Rumors surround this fact. Some say he left due to Alcohol abuse problems). His band The Aquabats were supporting and Travis had to learn the whole set in a few hours. He was then asked to join the band full time a few months later.
Travis' major musical influences include Latin, jazz and hip-hop.
He prefers Orange County Drums and Percussion (http://www.ocdrum.com/) drums, Zildjian cymbals and drumsticks, and Drum Workshop hardware.
In 2005, he starred in his own MTV reality show, Meet the Barkers, with wife Shanna Moakler, whom he married on October 30, 2004. They have one son together, Landon Asher Barker, who was born October 9, 2003. She also has a daughter from a previous relationship, Atiana. Travis and Shanna are expecting another child in December 2005.
Travis owns his own accessory/apparel company called Famous Stars And Straps, which is becoming the one of the most sought after product in alternative clothing. He also owns his own record company, LaSalle records which the Transplants are signed to.
As of May 31, 2005, Travis is planning to start play some gigs at clubs with DJ AM, Nicole Richie's fiance.fr:Travis Barker
