Tommerup municipality

Tommerup municipality, a municipality in central Denmark, in the county of Funen.

The municipal covers an area of 74 km², and has a total population of 7,816 (2005). Main city and site of municipal-council, is Tommerup.

By January 1, 2007 Tommerup municipality will cease to exists as it will combined with Haarby, Glamsbjerg, Assens, Aarup and Vissenbjerg municipality to form a new Vestfyns municipality.

Formed in 1970 from the following parishes;

• Broholm Sogn (Odense Herred)
• Brylle Sogn (Odense Herred)
• Tommerup Sogn (Odense Herred)
• Verninge Sogn (Odense Herred)
