Tomelilla Municipality

Tomelilla is a municipality and town in Scania in southernmost Sweden.

The municipality covers an area of 398.7 km². Of the total population of 12,372, 6,159 are male, and 6,213 are female. The population density of the community is 31 inhabitants per km².

Famous

Tomelilla was made famous by Tage Danielsson (1928-1985) and Hans Alfredsson (1931-), who directed and acted in numerous movies that were filmed in and around Tomelilla:

• Picassos äventyr (1978)
• Den enfaldige mördaren (1982)
• P&B (1983)
• Jim & piraterna Blom (1986)

If it wasn't for these movies and their popularity, Tomelilla wouldn't have more than a spot on the map. Quite a few famous people own houses in the countryside around Tomelilla. To mention a few:
