Tom Ognibene

Thomas Ognibene is currently running for mayor of New York City against incumbent Mayor Michael Bloomberg and investment banker Steve Shaw in the New York City Republican party primary showdown in 2005. Ognibene is a more conservative Republican than Bloomberg and seeks to beat Bloomberg who is considered a RINO.

Ognibene was a former Queens City Councilman (1992-2002) and minority leader who was endorsed by the leaders of the Queens County Republican Committee on February 10, 2005. According to the New York Sun, Ognibene is expected to win the endorsement of the Conservative Party. [1] (http://www.nysun.com/article/11342)

Ognibene graduated from C.W. Post College in 1966, served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970 and graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1974. He is a resident of Queens and has been married for 37 years to his wife Margaret, a former New York City junior high school teacher. He has two children, Guy and Eve Ognibene.
