Thresher

A thresher is a device that first separates the head of a stalk of grain from the straw, and then further separates the kernel from the rest of the head.
A thresher is a type of shark, harmless to man and easily recognizable because its tail is longer than the combined length of body and head.
USS Thresher has been the name of two United States Navy submarines:
- The first USS Thresher (SS-200), was a Tambor-class submarine that served in World War II.
- The second USS Thresher (SSN-593), was the lead ship of her class of nuclear-powered attack submarines and was lost by accident on 10 April 1963.
