Thomas Vander Wal

Thomas Vander Wal is an information architect known for coining the term "folksonomy" and is considered a thought leader in the web and information design industry.

Thomas' focus is on information structure. He is currently working for the INDUS Corporation in Bethesda, Maryland. He is on the Founding Leadership Council for The Asilomar Institute for Information Architecture (AIfIA), and the Steering Committee for the Web Standards Project (WaSP). He is also Alumni Tech Lead for Boxes and Arrows magazine.
