The Terraces (Bahá'í)

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

The Terraces refers to the Bahá'í Faith owned garden terraces that form nine above and nine below the Shrine of the Báb on Mount Carmel within Haifa, Israel.

Some Bahá'ís believe that the number eighteen refers to one per Letter of the Living, however the Bahá'í supreme body, the Universal House of Justice has denied this. Eighteen is a significant number within both the Bahá'í and Bábí religions.
