The Kick Inside is Kate Bush's first album.
The album was written by Kate when she was still a teenager and was released on February 17 1978 when she was 19. It contains her only UK No. 1 hit to date, Wuthering Heights.
There are apparently six different album covers; the one shown at right is the UK cover. The North American release consisted of a simple portrait of Bush.
