The Island (2005) is a science fiction film planned for release by DreamWorks SKG on July 22, 2005. It is a remake of the 1979 film Parts: The Clonus Horror. Directed by Michael Bay, it stars Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson.
The film's plot centres around a futuristic island whose inhabitants are "harvested beings" rather than human. The character played by McGregor is the king of this island, and hatches a plan to escape with the help of Johansson's character.
