The Hot Zone
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The Hot Zone is a 1995 nonfiction book by Richard Preston describing the events that unfolded in Reston, Virginia when the lethal filovirus Ebola was apparently accidentally imported with monkeys from the Philippines. It is not a book for the squeamish; there are extremely graphic descriptions of how exactly Marburg and Ebola ravage the human body.
