The Golden Age of DC Comics was the period in which the flagship characters of DC-- Superman, Batman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, etc. were initially introduced in the medium, their origins were told, and their characters were established, which succeeding generations of comic book writers and creators would use as the source material by which to define and re-define the characters.
