The Epoxies
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The Epoxies are a Portland, Oregon-based band. Their music is a modern re-invention of new-wave music. The five members of the band go by Epoxy-themed pseudonyms. They are:
- Roxy Epoxy (vocals)
- FM Static (keys/vox)
- Viz Spectrum (guitar)
- Shock Diode (bass)
- Ray Cathode (drums)
As of June 2005, they've released two albums.
- Epoxies (on Dirtnap Records)
- Stop the Future (on Fat Wreck Chords)
The Epoxies' music is synth-heavy and beat-driven. The lyrics are often a clever amalgamation of romantic sweet nothings and futuristic paranoia. A strong example of this combination is in "We're So Small", a song about the final moments of two lovers as a hydrogen bomb approaches, featuring the lyrics, "Don't you worry baby, it's over in a flash / So hold me in your arms and put your lips to mine / There's nowhere we can run to, and we're running out of time."
