Tharapithia

Tharapithia is a fictional character, a Great Old One in the Cthulhu Mythos. An obscure deity dwelling beneath an unholy oak grove somewhere in the Baltic region. Worshipped by the local pagan tribes it wreacked havoc on the conquering Teutons. Its strength was derived from the roots of the old oaks, possibly relating to the cult of Demeter.
