Note that this tag is specifically for items that you know FOR CERTAIN to have been released into the public domain by their creators -- not for images that have entered PD due to copyright expiration (use {{PD}}), or images that you have created yourself (use {{PD-self}}). Please include all evidence you have that creator desires the image to be public domain on the image description page.

This tag will place images into Category:Copyright holder released public domain images.
