TekWar

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

TekWar is the title of a series of science fiction novels by William Shatner which gave rise to a TV series and short series of TV movies in which Shatner also appeared. These novels were ghostwritten by Ron Goulart, although Shatner is said to have written the outlines.

The plot centers around Tek, an addictive, computerized mind-altering drug. The hero, Jake Cardigan (played by Greg Evigan) is framed for dealing in the drug some 4 years before the start of the story. Having been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, he is released early.

The TV series ran from 1994 to 1996 and also starred Torri Higginson; Shatner appeared as Cardigan's mentor, Jake Bascom.
