Tecoh

Tecoh is a town in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, located at 20°75′ N 89°47′ W (http://kvaleberg.com/extensions/mapsources/index.php?params=20_75_N_89_47_W_), some 40 km south-east of Mérida, Yucatán. As of 2003, Tecoh had a population of about 8,500 people. Most of the population is Maya. A number of buildings in the town were built atop older Pre-Columbian foundations. "Tecoh" means "Place of the Puma" in the Maya language, which is still widely spoken here.
