TNT N.V. is a provider of express delivery, logistics supply chain, and mail services. Its two brands are TNT and Royal TPG Post. TNT is its global brand for express and logistics services. TNT Express operates the largest express network by air and road in Europe. TNT Logistics is the second largest logistics company in the world. Royal TPG Post is the national postal operator in the Netherlands. After becoming privatised in 1994, the Dutch post took over TNT Express in 1996. "TNT" is an abbreviation for Thomas Nationwide Transport, an organisation founded in 1946 in Australia by Ken Thomas.
Subsidiaries include TNT Logistics North America Inc. and TNT Logistics UK Ltd.. TNT Express operates TNT Air Cargo, an international cargo airline.
TNT N.V. is listed on Euronext, NYSE (TP (http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=TP)), LSE, and DAX.
Today, TNT N.V. employs over 160,000 people in 64 countries and serves over 200 countries. In 2003, TNT N.V. had sales of EUR 11.9 billion (approximately $14.6 billion).
