The Supreme People's Assembly is the parliament of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). It consists of 687 members, who are popularly elected to serve five year terms. Elections were last held in August 3rd, 2003, and will be held again in 2008. Kim Yong-nam currently serves as President of the body. It is the highest organ of state power (de jure).
