Stora Enso Oyj (NYSE: SEO (http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=SEO)) is a FinnishSwedish pulp and paper manufacturer, formed by the merger of Swedish mining and forestry products company Stora and Finnish forestry products company Enso in 1998. It has approximately 42,500 employees and in 2002 it was the fifth largest pulp and paper manufacturer in terms of revenue.

Stora Enso, by one count, is the oldest corporation in the world. Stora (originally Stora Kopparberg) was granted a charter from King Magnus II of Sweden in 1347.

In 2000 the company acquired U.S. company Consolidated Papers, Inc. In 2000 Stora Enso and AssiDomän formed a joint company, Billerud AB, to produce packaging paper.
