Statistics Sweden, or Statistiska centralbyrån (SCB), is a Government agency responsible of producing the official statistics on Sweden. National statistics in Sweden dates back to 1686 when the parishes of the Church of Sweden were ordered to start keeping records on the population. The predecessor of SCB, called the Office of Tables (Tabellverket) was set up in 1749 and the current name was taken in 1858.

As of 2005, the agency has approximately 1400 employees. The offices of the agency are located in Stockholm and Örebro.
