Many star ratings exist and are defined on a use case basis. Refer to the categories below for some standard uses.

General Star Ratings

Freezer & Refrigerator Ratings

Freezers & refrigerators with a freezer compartment have a star rating. One star / Temperature = -6°C Maximum storage time for frozen food / 1 week

Two stars / Temperature = -12°C Maximum storage time for frozen food / 1 month

Three stars / Temperature = -18°C Maximum storage time for frozen food / 3 months

Four stars / Temperature / -21°C Maximum storage time for frozen food / long term, up to 12 months

Fresh food can only be frozen in a freezer with a four star (****) rating.
