Standard Oil of Louisiana

Standard Oil of Louisiana was originally founded by John D Rockefeller as Standard Oil. It was broken up as part of the Sherman Antitrust Act, and became part of Esso Corporation. It is generally accepted that this part of Esso was what fueled Esso's rise as an oil corporation, and success in the petroleum industry.
