Ssi-ruuvi Imperium
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The Ssi-ruuvi Imperium was the government and holdings of the Ssi-ruuvi in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The Shreeftut, leader of the Imperium, reigned over a swathe of the Unknown Regions known as the Ssi-ruuvi Star Cluster from the capital of the Imperium, Lwhekk.
When Emperor Palpatine discovered the Ssi-ruuk, he began negotiations for the use their entechment technology. Palpatine offered millions of slaves and hundred of planets to the Ssi-ruuvi in exchange for the use of their technology. The death of the Emperor ended the negotiations, and the Imperium chose to enter the Outer Rim to begin a conquest of their own.
In 4 ABY, the Imperium launched its first known excursion out of the Unknown Regions, launching an assault on the backwater world of Bakura. A fleet under the command of Admiral Ivpikkis devastated the Imperial garrison, but the timely arrival of a Rebel Alliance task force turned the tide of the Battle of Bakura. Like their earlier invasion of Chiss space, the Imperium's aggression towards the Empire and the Alliance would almost be its undoing.
Concerned about the repercussions of allowing the Imperium to regroup, Mon Mothma authorized a New Republic invasion force to advance towards Lwhekk. Their task was to pacify the Imperium and negotiate from a position of power. To maximize the effects of the fleet, the newly commissioned Sibwarra was chosen as the force's flagship, in hopes that the site of their own starship would have a psychological impact on the leaders of the Imperium.
The New Republic task force arrived in the Ssi-ruuvi Star Cluster to find a weak foe. It was clear that the Imperium had already taken a severe beating from the opposite front, which was perhaps the result of a Chiss assault. Capitalizing on their weakness, the New Republic task force engaged the fleet of Admiral Ivpikkis, battling to a bloody standstill. When negotiations proved futile, the Alliance left Imperium space, satisfied the Ssi-ruuk were too weak to mount another invasion.
In the intervening years, a Ssi-ruuk called the Keeramak came to power. He fulfilled a Ssi-ruuvi prophecy. He led an invasion force to Bakura, disguised as P'w'ecks. Out of nowhere the P'w'eck Emancipation Movement revolted on Bakura and in the Imperium. It is unknown what happened in the Imperium after the revolt, but some reports speak of a Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
