The Springer-Verlag (pronounced SHPRING er FAIR lahk) was a worldwide publishing company base in Germany. Since 2004 it is part of Springer Science and Business Media.

The company was founded in 1842 by Julius Springer in Berlin. At first it mainly published political and philosophical works.
