Clupea sprattus
Found in Europe, this is a fish with silver grey scales and white-grey flesh. The fish is around 12% fat in its flesh and is a source of many vitamins. When used for food it can be canned, salted, fried, grilled, baked, marinaded etc.

Clupeonella cultriventris
Found in the Caspian, Black Azov seas with white-grey flesh and silver-grey scales. This fish has a lifetime of 6 years, a length of 14-15 cm and is around 12% fat in flesh. The peak of its spawning is in April and it can be found in enormous shoals in sea-shores, filled all-round coastal shallows, moving quickly back in the sea at a depth of 6-30 meters. Used for food.
