From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Sports science is the study and application of scientific principles and techniques with the aim of improving sporting performance.

The study of sports science traditionally incorporates areas of physiology, psychology and biomechanics but also includes other topics such as sociology, nutrition and diet, sports technology and performance analysis.

Higher-education degrees in sports science are becoming increasingly popular, with some universities, such as Loughborough University in England, becoming renowned for the high quality of their sports science tuition.
