Soufrière, Saint Lucia

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Soufrière is a town on the Southwest coast of Saint Lucia in the West Indies. Home to the world's only "drive-in" volcano, Soufrière also has the Diamond Botanical Gardens, home of the Diamond Waterfall and ancient mineral baths.

Soufrière is also famed for the twin Piton Mountains, which are featured in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean". The Gros Piton and Petit Piton rise up from coral reef beds that have made the region popular for snorkeling and scuba diving.
