Solrød

Solrød is a municipality in east Denmark, in the county of Roskilde on the island of Zealand. The municipality covers an area of 40 km², and has a total population of 19,998.

The municipality contains a number of different towns, including Solrød, which is inland a couple of kilometres, Solrød Strand which is located on the coast, Jersie Strand and Jersie. The S-Train line runs from central Copenhagen through to the Solrød Strand Station, which is located in the Solrød Center, one of the main shopping areas in the municipality, and on to Køge. The train to Copenhagen takes about half an hour.

There are beautiful beaches along the coast of Køge Bugt (Bay). Much of Solrød was developed in the 1970s.
