From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Slush

Slush is partly melted snow and ice.

Slush is also used to describe a food that is a mixture of ice, sugar and fruit. It is a popular refreshment in the USA and in some fast food restaurant chains, which bring that dish to almost the whole modern world. Its consistency is between liquid and a milkshake.

Usually the making of slushes include renting an expensive machine, which is able to produce the product almost instantly. It can be made with the usual household machinery but it takes some time (12+ hours) to complete.

The tastes vary widely, just like ice or other sweets.

Some like to call a slush a "slushie."
