Skanderborg municipality

Skanderborg municipality is a municipality in central Denmark, in the county of Aarhus, on the peninsula of Jutland.

The municipality covers an area of 143,22 km², and has a total population of 21.745 (2003). Site of municipal-council, is Skanderborg.

On january 1st 2007 the municipality of Skanderborg will change name into NySkanderborg. At that time four municipalities will fusion into the larger NySkanderborg kommune - The municipality of NySkanderborg.
