Sir James Guthrie

Scottish artist, born 1859, died 1930. He was born in Greenock but studied in Paris and lived for most of his life in the Scottish Borders. He was strongly influenced by the Impressionists and was associated with the Glasgow Boys. He is best known for his portraits.
