Siguršur Nordal

Siguršur Nordal (18861974) was an Icelandic scholar, writer, and poet. He was influential in forming the theory of the Icelandic sagas as works of literature composed by individual authors. His work on Icelandic culture was used as a standard text in Icelandic colleges. As of the early 21st century his works and theories are still held in high regard.

Some of his most influential works are:

  • Völuspį (a treatise on this poem)
  • Ķslenzk menning (a book on Icelandic culture)
  • Hrafnkatla (a treatise on this saga)
