Sidewalk chalk is large colored chalk used mostly by children in a variety of activities, but is mostly restricted to drawing on pavement or cement sidewalk. It is sometimes used to draw a four square court.

Recently, artists such as Kurt Werner, have created amazingly intricate and realistic street paintings using the chalk and pastels.
