Shoot
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
(Redirected from Shoots)
A shoot is the fresh young growth of a plant stem. Many animals eat shoots because the fiber cells are not yet developed to toughen the stem. As a protection, some plants (eg. bracken) produce toxins that make their shoots inedible or less palatable.
