The Sheetweb spiders belong to the family Linyphiidae. One common U.S.
genus is Florinda. These spiders are so small that they can only be clearly seen with a powerful hand lens. The following pictures were taken with a digital microscope. The spider would not remain in one place so she became a moving target for the camers. The eyes of members of this family are found in a kind of shower head arrangement, and frequently the eyes sit on a kind of turret.
