Shawn Mikula

Shawn Mikula is a neuroscientist known for his theoretical work over neural coding, which involved the derivation of exact solutions for neural firing rates and cross-correlations within networks of neurons. He is also known for his role in the U.S.-sponsored Human Brain Project for making publicly available the first high-resolution digital atlases of the primate brain (at http://brainmaps.org ).

Mikula obtained B.S. degrees in physics, biochemistry, and mathematics from the Univ of Texas at Austin, and obtained his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently residing in California where he is continuing his work over neuroinformatics and theoretical neuroscience.
