Shalom

Shalom (שלום) is a Hebrew language word meaning peace. As it does in English, it can refer to either peace between two entities (like between two countries), or to inner peace, calmness or safety of one individual.
The word is often used as a shortened form of the greeting Shalom Aleichem. In this context it is translated into English as hello.
