From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

The Sender Zehlendorf (Transmitter Zehlendorf) is an important longwave and mediumwave transmission facility near Zehlendorf near Oranienburg, Brandenburg (north of Berlin). The most important transmitter is a longwave broadcasting transmitter on 177 kHz with a power of 500 Kilowatts.

As aerials are used a reusen aerial on a 359.7 metre tall guyed mast, which replaced a similiar guyed mast collided after a plane collision on May 18th, 1978 and an aerial in form of a triangle hung on three 150 metres high guyed masts and a reusen aerial for mediumwave.

In order to acceleate the reconstruction of the mast destroyed after a plane collision on May 18th 1978, the area in a radius of 300 metres of the site was made to Russian territory. So Russian securities could be used, which were not so restrictive and allowed a faster construction of the mast.
