Semi-square

In the field of astrology a semi-square is an aspect that two planets or make when they are 45 degrees apart from each other. The semi-square is considered to be the 8th harmonic of the chart because it is one-eigth of the 360 degree circle that the zodiac resides in. The semi-square is considered to be a minor hard aspect because is causes friction in the native's life and prompts he to take some action to reduce that friction.
For example, if the Sun is posited in 10 degrees Aquarius and Venus is posited in 25 degrees Pisces then a semi-square would occur. This indicates that the native is not likely to be totally happy in matters of love. She will have a tendency to seek out those individuals who are not necessarily compatible to her, and this will lead to a sense of tension and lead her to take actions to correct what to her is often times frustration.
