Scutelleridae

Scutelleridae are otherwise known as shield-backed bugs, a reference to the fact that their shield is continuous, not divided. Because bugs in this family are usually brightly colored, they are also known as Jewel bugs. These insects are plant suckers, and are closely related to stink bugs.
