Scorpaeniformes is an order of ray-finned fish, also called the Scleroparei or Dactylopteriformes, closely related to and sometimes included in the Perciformes. There are about 20 families:
Suborder Anoplopomatoidei
- Anoplopomatidae (sablefishes, consists of the sablefish and skilfish)

- Abyssocottidae (deep-sea sculpins)
- Agonidae (poachers, including alligatorfish and starsnouts)

- Hemitripteridae (sea ravens and sailfin sculpins)

- Rhamphocottidae (grunt sculpin)

- Cyclopteridae (lumpsuckers or lumpfishes)
