Søndersø municipality

Søndersø municipality, a municipality in central Denmark, in the county of Funen.
Formed in 1970 from the following parishes;
- Ejlby Sogn (Skovby Herred)
- Hårslev Sogn (Skovby Herred)
- Melby Sogn (Skovby Herred)
- Skamby Sogn (Skam Herred)
- Særslev Sogn (Skovby Herred)
- Søndersø Sogn (Skovby Herred)
- Veflinge Sogn (Skovby Herred)
- Vigerslev Sogn (Skovby Herred)
The municipality covers an area of 181 km², and has a total population of 11,042. Main city and site of municipal-council, is Søndersø.
By January 1, 2007 Søndersø municipality will cease to exists as it will combined with Otterup and Bogense municipality to form a new Nordfyns municipality.
